La Plaza de Banderas
El monumento Von Miller
Boyaca's Bridge is the most important places in Colombian history. When We went to Zipaquira, we saw this historic place. There was the Francisco de Paula Santander monument near Boyaca's Bridge, where Colombian independence was won against the Spanish army. A policeman was talking the independence Colombia history.
There I saw the following monuments: la Llama de la LIbertad (The Flame of Freedon) This monument always is turned on. The flame represents the eternal independence and never be extinguished. Monumento Von Miller are 5 women's statues. It's representing Colombia, Venezuela,Ecuador, Peru y Bolivia. When I saw the Boyaca's Bridge, I didn't think that this monument it was small.
In Colombia The Battle of Boyaca Day is celebrated each year on Aug. 7. For colombian people, this place is in the top of places not to miss. If you want to visit those wonderful monuments you should have car, also you can go by turistic bus. There aren't any restaurants, it's recommended you have your own food and water. There it's cold, sometimes it's raining. Don't forget your chaquet. If you want to learn about Colombia conuntry, this trip it's perfect for you.
I found a video about my trip but i didn't do it. You can see it online. This is a exemple of policeman's presentation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ee8yV8dNez4.
