I also visited two beautiful Bavarian towns: Mittenwald and Garmish. Both considered to be some of the most beautiful and charming villages in Germany. They are small enough to visit in a day. Garnish hosted the Winter Olympics in 1936, so you can include in your tour a visit to the former Olympic stadium. These places are right next to the German alps, so hiking is a popular sport to practice here. There are plenty places to explore by foot and hike to, like the Leutasch Spirit Gorge, Karwendel and Kranzberg.

If you are in the Bavarian area, a visit to the Neuschwanstein Castle is a must. A magical site not only for the impressive architecture of the castle, but for the breathtaking view of the landscape. Rising on top of a hill, the castle is set in one of the world's most beautiful locations, right in the midst of the German Alps, surrounded by lakes and a stunning waterfall and gorge. No wonder why Walt Disney got inspired by this castle to build the Disney fairytale castle.

-To arrive at the sight, you first have to take a train to the city of Fussen and from there a bus to the bottom of the hill. At the bottom of the hill, you must buy your tickets for a "scheduled" tour of the castle. You cannot buy the tickets at the castle. Once you buy your tickets, you can either walk (about 40 minutes), or take a horse carriage up the hill to the castle. Once you see the castle take a walk to the back of it and around it (about 20 minute-walk), you will get to a bridge where you can enjoy one of the most stunning views you would ever experienced. The castle and the river will be in front of you, the mountains all around and the waterfall right bellow. Truly a Cinderella scene.
