Annecy is
located on the northern tip of Lake Annecy, 35 kilometers south of Geneva. This
town with stunning views of the mountains is candidate to host the 2018 Olympic
and Paralympic Winter Games.
Although there are many things to see in town, a walk around the
lake will live you with a big smile on your face, as you enjoy the stunning
views and the elegant gardens that adorned the promenade.
Some of the town's attractions are: Palais de l’Isle, Chateau d’Annecy,
Cathedral of Saint-Pierre, Rue Sainte-Claire, European Gardens, Pont des Amours,
Imperial Palace.
Yvoire is
considered one of France’s most beautiful villages. You cannot avoid to feel as
if you were traveling back in time when you walk along its cobblestone narrow
streets. Many houses showcase gorgeous flowers handing outside of their windows,
creating the most beautiful contrast between the vibrant colors of the flowers and
the gray colored stone of the buildings.
The town is
positioned between the "small lake" and “big lake” on lake Geneva, granting
amazing views of the lake, as well as the mountains.
The best thing to do: simply walk along the village's Medieval streets, enjoy lunch in one of its picturesque restaurants, or have an ice cream cone in front of the lake.
