After extending my stay in Lake Titcaca and Lima, I was running out of time to travel north but once again I found myself idling in another city.  I met five Israeli guys on the bus who thankfully looked out for me because the rush of tuk-tuk drivers outside the CIAL bus stop was very overwhelming.  We stayed at the Loki Hostel, which I still cannot decide if I would recommend or not.  While the first night was less than idealistic, the second two were fine and I feel like the Loki may be the only nightlife in the city.  The pool and infrastructure are very beautiful and the beach access is very convenient.  Unfortunately, it has a trashy vibe that is usually only seen in Cancun in the spring.  I also did not like the beds as they seem to have a plastic wrap on it that is used when potty training little kids.

The beach is beautiful in Mancora with plenty of kite-surfers and vendors to keep the sun bathers entertained (especially the vendors selling dead sea horses for luck?!?!?).  We spent most of our days eating and at the beach and our nights at the Loki.  Mancora had amazing food (that I did not know about until I met Noga and Asaf).  The last day we went to the beach near the Eppo Bus Los Organos stop (about 20 minutes from Mancora).  The water is amazingly blue with fine sand and hardly any wind compared to the beach at Mancora; however, we found out after we got into the water, by a woman frantically screaming in Spanish, that the sting ray population in that area makes the beach unsafe for swimmers.  May depend on the time of the year, so check it out before visiting.
