The day started at around 11:30am on the 7th of December. Our busy afternoon began with a short sleep as we would not be getting any that night. By the time we woke up, it was time to pick up the rest of the girls and Michael Lord. Mum dropped us off at Milica Arsic's house while she dropped Michael back at his house. We got our hair cut and went back home. By then we decided to make a trip to the doctors to get prescribed for some malaria medication after Mihiri sent us an email warning us about the mosquitoes. We got the medicine and arrived home to cook tea. We spent the last few hours eating and finishing the last-minute packing. We left home for the airport at around 9pm, picking Laura up from youth group on the way. We arrived at the airport at around 10pm. We paid for the supposedly outrageously expensive short-term airport parking.
The check-in queue was surprisingly long for the 0:50 flight, allowing mum and I to run off to the toilets and take our malaria pills. By the time we joined dad, he had already met up with Om, Johan (Mihiri's brother) and Jane (Mihiri's bridesmaid). They were a few people ahead of us, so we constantly bumped into them in the queue when they were directly in front of us in the next row of people. We checked in and were told that we were going to fly on a brand new flight. By this time, it was time to say good-bye to the rest of our family.
