Hello!
Today we woke up at the unthinkable hour to go to the airport early in the hope of our seats moving from the back of the plane. No Luck. What was lucky, though, was that the early start enabled us more time in Qantas club, which Uncle Steve got us into. Thanks again!
We borded our flight at around 9.30am and found our seats. As we're taking Kelsey and therefore have an odd number of people, mum had to sit by herself. She whispered that the person sitting next to her smelt. What luck! The flight was direct to Cairns, and we were served lunch and later on an ice cream. We landed smoothly at 1:03 according to dad who ran off the plane to meet Peter Stewart who gave him a lift to the car hire place. We got the car Dad requested he drove it to us, who had got all the bags.
The squeeze to fit in the suitcases was tight, let me tell you, but dad said he measured it beforehand and said it would just fit, although he could have been a few centimetres off as he measured it with his arm. Lucky he wasn't though, because even just a few centimetres smaller would have been a disaster!
The drive to Cooktown was long. There were bushfires halfway there which we drove through, but I slept through it. What a time for a snooze!

We arrived at Cooktown at dusk and unpacked the car. We ordered fish and cips for dinner. The view from the pier was amazing. We ate our fish and chips in our room and had an early night
