I am writing this as I wait for the plane to arrive. We've been through security and got our passports stamps. We got up at 4:00am and drove straight to the airport. Aunty Cath drove Nanna and Madeline who met us at check-in. We're all really tired but I have no hope of getting back to sleep now that I'm all excited and nervous. It's going to be a really long day. Laura's already asleep on mum's lap, tired after her week-long camp.
The plane has just started boarding so I should sign off now. I'll write more later!

The first plane ride was uneventful. There was a small amount or turbulance, but nothing really big. We watched a few movies and played games agains each other, like battleships. It wasn't until Hong Kong airport that we had some drama. As we walked to our terminal, they would not let us take our expensive liquids on the plane. We ony bought them at Melboure airport who assured us that it would be okay. After a little while, we finally gave up and boared the plane. The Plane to Beijing was nice. It wasn't as full as the Hong Kong plane, so we had the option to spread ourselves out a little more. We got off the plane and went to customs. The lines were huge! We spent over half an hour in the line, waiting. By the time we got to baggage collection, our bags had already been around a few times. As we walked out into the main part of the airport, it was so nice to see my tutor Rebecca's smiling face waiting for us. She organised taxis for us and accompanyed us to our hotel.

Aunty Robynne
Great update Amy. Sorry to hear you ost all your expensive liquid. Could you drink it?

We have exciting news on the home front james is going to Mexico or in the words of Alex, Mec-i-mo. James is of course very excited and has already been on the internet looking up an atlas and finding out interesting facts. He has to present a talk on Australia when he is in Mexico so he has been researching facts on Aus as well.

Jan has booked tickets for the Australian Ballet's performance of The Nutcracker. We lost tickets for the matinee as we were too slow to accept. We spent too much time umming and aaahing over back row or second back row. Finally we stopped mucking araound and ended up accepting tickets for the 7.30pm show, Sept 22nd, the only other Sat matinee was 29th Sept which is Grand Final Day so we did not take these.

Hope you are all well and having a wonderful time.

Love to each
