Today started off well, and we out on the slopes by 10.
We headed over to the other side of the mountain, which we had recently discovered yesterday.  Over this side, the Christmas trees made by skiers are beautiful.  The baubles would be too big to fit in my hand, and they are evenly spaced, right up to the top.  One of them is particularly beautiful, and even has a star on top to complete it.  When mum and dad were on a chairlift, they happened to share the chair with the creators of this particular tree.  Apparently, they have been doing this for over 8 years, which is what sparked the many other Christmas trees that line the runs.  It takes them an hour and a half to decorate the tree, with the wife climbing up to the top.  Dad asked if if is spiky or uncomfortable, but she said no.  My theory is that she has incredibly resistant skin.

We skied until past 3pm, as the snow was so good. Elyse is becoming speedier and speedier as she grows in confidence, and I feel as if I have improved as well.  We go into a lodge for a hot chocolate at about 11:30.  There is a certain air in the lodge that turns perfectly well-mannered humans into vultures that are on the hunt.  Tables in this place are hotly contested, so a technique is required to nab one.  Once a group of people start to get dressed again, you must pounce and almost crowd them, so that the table is yours before anyone else claims it. This requires precision, timing, and intense people-watching, so that you have the edge over other groups doing the same thing.
We have taken to eating cinnamon rolls when having a hot chocolate, which is quite the staple here.  They are sticky buns, and are quite addictive, especially when warmed. Everyday, the on-mountain lodge makes at least 8 dozen of them, and the village bakery makes many more.
We came back home, and decided to have pizza for dinner, as we are very low on food in the fridge.
This may have been a good idea, had not everyone else in the entire village opted to do the exact same thing.  The line at the pizza shop was literally outside, into the snow, and the half-hour wait we were promised quickly turned into an hour.  It was worth it once we got the food, and came back home to our apartment to eat and watch a movie.

What an icredible video. Was the snow so deep, so that if she'd fallen, she'd had a soft landing?
