This was a day of gorgeous scenery, viewed from our floating home.  The weather was very cold and overcast, so we abandoned our viewing post on deck for the warmth of our stateroom.  We listened to the running commentary and watched the live camera on our television.  First we would run out onto the balcony when the scenery was especially incredible.  then we would dash back inside to the warmth of our bedcovers.  As we approached Cape Horn, the skies lightened and we had a wonderful view of the hugh rock face and surrounding area.  As we slowly sailed around the cape, the weather quickly changed and the fog set in.  The land disappeared behind a thick fog and a fine mist added to the misery of the cold.  THEN WOW, the captain announced, that we were HORNIES, the official name for those who have circled Cape Horn.  We have certificates suitable for framing to prove our achievement.

In the evening we watched the Oscars on a giant screen.  Funny they shared the event because we get no news of the world.  Other ships publish a daily newspaper, but not Princess.  The theory is, the less you know the more relaxed you are and the more money you will spend on the junk they sell.
