The trip to Delhi took about 45 hours and apperantly, foreigners don't take the train for such a long distance, they fly.  It was an okay trip - Reena and I had our own berths (just a padded bunk amongst a bunch of other bunks - no private "rooms" or anything like that) so we were reasonably comfortable.
