Before setting of on our around the world journey, we had one very important event to attend - our wedding! It was even more beautiful and fun than we ever imagined. We were closely monitoring the weather all week as the predictions changed from sunny to rainy. We remained hopeful after spotting a beautiful rainbow Thursday night. The last time we saw a rainbow together was the weekend we got engaged, so we took it as a good sign.

Sure enough, I woke up early Saturday morning to grey, gloomy skies, but as the time drew closer, the clouds parted and the sun greeted us for the ceremony, and the rain held off until the next morning. Here are some highlights of the day:

Remarkably, I made it through the ceremony without crying, but we succeeded in making many of our guests cry when we recited the vows we had written to each other.

The cake cutting was an amusing highlight - my piece fell off the fork before Mark could get it to my mouth!

Our first dance was to Come Fly with Me by Sinatra. An appropriate send off for our honeymoon plans. Once the dancing began, we were hardly off the dance floor the rest of the night. We had a great DJ who really got the party started.

I borrowed an idea from a friend for the bouquet toss. Rather than toss one bouquet, I had the florist make 6 mini bouquets. When I held them together they looked like one big bouquet, but once I threw them the scattered so six lucky ladies got to catch them. I'm now on the hit list of all their boyfriends!!

Some wedding pictures are attached. We hope you enjoy them.

Now, onto the honeymoon.

We are packing and taking care of last minute details as we prepare to fly to London on Sunday night. Below is a rough itinerary for our trip. If any of you would like to meet us somewhere along the way, just let us know.
