Today we drove up to Manchester to go to the Imperial War Museum. It was fantastic. Very modern and wonderfully presented. They had heaps of artifacts and information and peoples individual stories and accounts and they combined all of this perfectly in a very educational and easy to follow series of exhibits and picture shows intermittently projected on all the walls of the internal gallery. We were both very impressed and captivated by all this place had to teach us. It was more then just a museum, it was a real eye opener. We really felt immersed in peoples experiences. They did a fantastic job of recreating the different experiences of the World War I and II and life in England in between.
We went to a huge shopping center just near the museum for tea on the way home. It was unbelievably huge! And the food court was divided up into eight corners of the world with different "avenues" and "lanes" all lined with teamed internal restaurants. It was really cool. Weird. But cool.
