Reporting from the road, we are driving to California!! We haven't written as much because we were up to a lot in Phoenix. The two days was a lot of fun. We upgraded to a Cabin with air conditioning due to the heat, which worked out great except for a run in with a rather large spider. Our first night in Phoenix was relaxing. The couple that ran the KOA were always watching out for us. They gave us a new cooler, because ours wasn't working out. They were always checking on us, and we had the best conversations with them. When leaving today Sarah colored a picture of the Arizona Scenery, and we wrote a nice thank you note to drop off with the key.
The first night we ate dinner at the campsite, watched the sunset by the mountains, and swam a lot! When we were getting ready for a late night swim we found a spider that Sarah describes as "a woolly mammoth spider". There was discrepancy on who would kill the spider, but Sarah feeling brave took a flip flop and screamed while she squished it. After we felt safe we fell to the ground from laughter.
After our late night swim, we sat on our Cabin porch and enjoyed the scenery in the 90 degree weather. We got a good nights rest, and we were able to sleep in until 8:30 AM!!! Made ourselves a nice pancake breakfast, and got ourselves ready for Tempe and Phoenix. We stopped in Tempe first, so Amie and Sarah could take a look at Arizona State University, home of the Sun Devils! We pulled in and everyone was speechless. The campus nearly takes up the whole city. The football stadium is nestled in between two mountains, and the one canyon Has a gigantic yellow "A" on it that you can see for miles away. We took a walk through campus, picked up some information, and gave ourselves a tour. Amie and Sarah are getting thier applications ready ;).
After we visited ASU we decided to check out Phoenix. We stopped at a hotel to ask where was a good place to eat. The man told us that Phoenix is mainly business, but there are a few restaurants. We headed back to Tempe to eat and roam. It seems Tempe is the place to be for people our age, since the campus takes over the city.  We ate at Chronic Taco, which is a local taco place designed like subway, great food again! After lunch we did some shopping and roaming. Everyone got themselves something, or a few things nice. Headbands, bags, and clothing were purchased. We made a friend at one of the stores we stopped in. He was so intrigued about our trip, and even more interested because we were from New Jersey. He pointed to a corner of his store, and told us there are braclets in that corner that are from Gautemala. He said, "Please take one each so when you go back to the snow in October you can look at your wrist and remember the hottest day of your life". He was such a nice man, and we were very thankful for his generosity. After a bit of heat exhaustion we decided to head back to camp. We went swimming, and ate some awesome stir fry a la Sarah. We packed up, hung out, and slept tight last night.
Currently we are in CALIFORNIA!!! On the road to San Diego, and we plan to go to Ocean Beach when we arrive. Tomorrow we will be spending the day at the San Diego Zoo!! We are ecstatic for our time in California, and plan to see as much as possible!

We are working on getting those pictures up, hang in there!

Sounds like you girls are having a wonderful time, even if you just told your mothers that you've been accepting free jewelry from strange men in the mountains!! haha.
Go on itunes and download a song by the Mama's and the Papa's called 'Young Girls are Going to the Canyon', Sarah and Amie should learn all the words!!

Arizona
Amie,
When I read your blog about Arizona I wanted to be there! That is the hallmark of good writing! Sounds like a great trip...thanks for sharing it with us.
Love,
Aunt Peggy
The encounter with the spider reminded me of the time i opened the slider in the hotel at disney and some creepy thing came in...salamander or something.
