After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, it's time to head to the Krakow airport for our 1pm flight to Oslo, stop 2 on our European adventure.

Check in and security at the airport was pretty much the same as in the US, except you don't have to take off your shoes at security in Europe.  There was no passport control for leaving Poland since we were flying to another country within Europe, so no passport stamps from Poland on the way out.  Very disappointing--we were looking forward to having stamps from Poland!

The flight was on time and uneventful, so we landed in Oslo when expected.  Once again there was no passport control or customs to go through--guess we won't be getting a stamp from Norway either  :(       Our Norwegian host, Tore (Jeff) was waiting for us in his Celtics coat, as promised  :)

It was an hour drive from the airport to Tore & Trine's place, which gave Mike & Tore plenty of time to catch up.  And, we were able to see some local sights, like the housing development in Jessheim that Tore's company built, and the childhood homes of both Tore & Trine.

We were lucky enough to be able to stay in Tore's Celtics room (he's a HUGE Celtics fan!!), and after we got settled in, it was time for snacks and sparkling wine to celebrate our visit to Oslo.  Then it was off to take the subway for our evening out in downtown Oslo.

The evening started with drinks at a beautiful outdoor cafe in the harbor district.  Even though it was quite cool out, the heat lamps made it very comfortable, and the view was spectacular.  Dinner was at a wonderful Italian restaurant where we discovered that the restaurant was serving "catfish" !   No, it wasn't really catfish, it was some sort of whitefish, but that's what the English translation said on the menu and it gave us all a good laugh.  :)
