Spain- Frigiliana village house 27th July 2010

More about the village of Frigiliana itself next time, but for now, a short note about the house we are staying in.

The first photo is of Frigiliana itself, looking for all the world like as if a giant has scattered a handful of sugar lumps on the mountain.

The second is of the front of the house from the very quiet little village street- garage door to the left, a front door and two bedroom windows. How quaint, but how tiny we thought- this was nothing like the pictures we had seen- were we at the right house? How could they fit in three bedrooms and three bathrooms in there?

The next few photos are taken upstairs- the street view, and yes, a lovely kitchen, lounge and two double bedrooms plus bathrooms, but the interior upstairs was completely overshadowed by the terrace and views outside- simply amazing.

Then downstairs to what they call the bodega- to our surprise it was a complete self contained flat down there- lounge with giant TV, a full second kitchen, another bedroom and bathroom, prettily authentic ceilings, elaborate tile work and lots of wrought iron, plus even room for a grand piano.

Outside, first thought was how do you get planning permission in a small village for a pool this size? A spectacular 15 meters or so long, set in a beautifully landscaped terrace with under cover lounge area plus outdoor dining and a state of the art barbeque.

At night, all beautifully lit- the fibre optic rope built into the pool edge changes colour, but as this area is a bit overlooked by the neighbours we didn't want to dazzle them so we don’t switch it on.

And the views from the pool deck and the upstairs terrace speak for themselves.

And yes, we think we can handle the rest of our couple of weeks here………

More about the village of Frigiliana next time.

Love,

Richard and Christine
