Hey all,

Arrived in blistering Houston Texas at about 5pm this evening. It was a long 6 hour drive to get here but we shared the driving so wasn't too bad. It really is crazy how long and straight the roads are here. As we crossed from Louisiana to Texas you really noticed a big difference in the landscape. Also the heat! 103 degrees Farenheit in the shade WTF it's almost mid September needless to say we had the roof up and air con on most of the day! Oh Anne saw a few gators along the way, sadly I did not :-(

We tuned into the local radio station and were dancing along to country and western tracks which was fun! Felt like we were having our own little line dancing class or something ha ha. We've not long checked in to our hotel, another Days Inn just off interstate 10 around 8 miles from Houston. We are planning our trip to Houston space centre for first thing tomorrow morning which we are so excited about!! Where we have stopped for the night has countless restaurants for us to choose from. We have decided on an all you can eat for $8 Chinese Buffett!! Oh yeah! Just returned from a trip to Walmart, the store where you can pick up your beer, wine, fruit and 44 magnum bullets all at the same time! So funny. We bought some beer, wine, water and some fruit to stop us munching on junk whilst driving! We have had more whoppers in the last 10 days than in the last year back home, and the American's wonder why they have waists lines the size of the equator! Anyhow, off for a shower then out for our Buffett.

Heading out into the country tomorrow after NASA space centre to hopefully stay in a traditional Texan ranch or the like. We will Just have to see ...........Much love S&A x
