We didn't really do too much in the few days we spent in Sao Paulo, here are the highlights:

D-Edge: a crazy nightclub which resembles something out of the movie Tron, definitely worth a visit.  It's worth checking out the website beforehand as each night is a different genre.  Doors opened at 12 when we went (Monday night)

Eat pastels at Hocca bar in Mercado Municipal.  Pastels are like pastry filled with different meats and deep fried, very delicious. (not too good for your health though)

Watch football: there are many different football teams in Sao Paulo.  We attended a cup match between Sao Paulo FC and a second division team called Portuguesa.  Tickets were easy to buy, we just rocked up at the ticket gates and bought the cheapest available.

Along Avenida Paulista there are markets to check out and they sell many souvenirs.

Visit Liberdade: the Japanese district of Sao Paulo.  In fact, Sao Paulo contains the largest Japanese population in the world outside of Japan.  There are many Japanese and other asian shops and restaurants.

We spent most of our time in the district of Vila Madalena, which contained many clubs and places that had live music.

Because we were there in summer, it was extremely hot, and every two days there was a thunderstorm (which we were lucky enough to be caught in).

Getting around by public transport was very easy.  The metro system is cheap and easy to use, as long as you have a basic knowledge of Portuguese pronunciation you should be fine.

After our 4 days in Sao Paulo we boarded an overnight bus to Foz do Iguassu, our final stop before returning to Buenos Aires.
