I was so disappointed we missed a port call in Gdansk Poland, but the weather was terrible and winds were too high for the ship to dock safely.

Poland is high on our list of places to visit before we leave Europe. We are thinking of flying to Bratislava on a cheap 15 Euro flight via SkyEurope or EasyJet, and then visiting Poland after wandering around Bratislava because it is the last of the four new national capitals we want to see. I think Latvia & Lithuania would be interesting too. (Let me know if anyone is up for touring around Eastern Europe. If Scott can't get vacation, I may be looking for a travel buddy...)

The world has changed so much in the past twenty years. None of those nations (Czech Republic, Slovakia, etc..) existed when I began college a few years ago & the USSR still existed. Now, there are new nations all over Eastern Europe and those are very places I intend to visit before Wal-Mart comes in and opens a store on every corner.
