Hospedaje Puerta Del Sol, Av. Faustino Piaggio 109, Tel: (072) 544294. I stayed at this excellent budget option, which is exactly as the Lonely Planet describes it. Their advertised rates, including breakfast were 35, 60 + 75 soles for 1, 2 or 3 persons, but they will knock off 5 soles if you opt out of the breakfast. The colourful rooms offer fans, private bathrooms and cable TV. If you're looking for somewhere a bit tranquil for a couple of days then this is a good option. Compared to Mancora, the beach here is deserted and you’ll most likely have it to yourself.

The hotel boasts a pool, bar and restaurant; with current rates of 120, 200 and 300 soles for 1, 2 or 3 persons, including a continental breakfast.

Hotel & Spa Costa Azul, Web: www.costaazulperu.com . Located just down from Hospedaje Puerta Del Sol, the Costa Azul has to be one of the finest hotels on this stretch of coast line. This new hotel is three months old and offers everything that you would need during your stay. The French windows give way too bright, spacious, modern rooms, with rates starting at 200 soles for single to 1400 soles for the presidential suite. It offers a pleasant atmosphere in the evenings as you relax by the pool with the music ticking away softly in the background. They also have English speaking staff. If you’re staying at Hospedaje Puerta Del Sol, then come here one evening for a drink or even a bight to eat.
