During the night, we kept awaking to the sounds of many very large animals scurrying around, searching for food, fighting and rummaging around in the dumpster. When morning came it became clear that the very large scavengers that attacked our campsite in the night were just a couple raccoons that did no damage. After waking up and getting ready we heard some rustling around in the dumpster, Patrick took a peak in and found one, very fat, and defeated looking raccoon. Guess he overestimated his athleticism and followed his fellow raccoons into the dumpster, only to find that he was too fat to climb back out. Because Patrick is so kind, he found a large stick, set it in the dumpster and made a ramp for the raccoon. He climbed out very slowly and looked back all ashamed before waddling back into the forest. Poor guy.

The bike ride today was just as great as yesterdays. We saw lots of cool little towns, passed through some bigger cities and took a break in Sausalito. While making our way up a very long, very steep hill, Patrick had to pull over. The axel in his tire had somehow come loose and the whole tire was falling apart! No clue how it broke, but it definitely was not fixable with the aide of a bike shop. We told Patrick we would bike back into town with him, but he told us to keep going so we could meet up with Lisa who was waiting at the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge and he would meet up with us in the city. We hesitated, but it seemed like some sort of sign that we were meant to bike across the bridge and finish our bike ride like we started, just the two of us.

The day was absolutely gorgeous, so there was lots of walking and biking traffic on the bridge. The view of the bay was amazing and as we approached the end, there was Lisa, once again with a video camera recording our last couple pedals of the trip. We couldn't pause for a photo op for too long, because we were backing up about 200 hundred other bikers, so we awkwardly scooted off to the side and got out of the way.

We found the hostel and got all set up with our room while we waited for Patrick to bike into the city, then waited for him at the sports bar across the street. After sharing a pizza and talking about how amazing it had been to spend the past week with Lisa and Patrick we said goodbye and they headed back home.
