Where I stayed
The following day I set off on a walk down into the valley and noticed I felt quite tired and wasn't up to my usual 'power-walking' pacewww.scenicworld.com.au/attractions_railway.asp ). Of course at that price I didn't take the train but walked up the steps and got some great views of Katoomba waterfalls. I cooked myself a great dinner and finally forced myself to buy kangaroo meat for my curry - yes I know they are cute, but so are sheep and here roo meat is very cheap and nutritious - high in iron and protein and hardly any fat.
Yesterday I decided to take it easier and went off to Wentworth Falls with an Aussie girl from Sydney (Leonie) as she had a car, and Mark. We had an amazing walk with much better scenery than the prevous day - it definitely helps to have your own transport here. Went for a swim at the local pool, but my body just didn't want to be there so it wasn't a great session.
Today I wasn't feeling much better so I just did a short walk to the next town as I'd read about some huge candy store with imported English sweets - imagining Haribo and English cadburys galore I was sorely disappointed to fnd it was mostly australian and American sweets so bought nothing. I'm thinking I should go back to the pool and spend some time in the spa there! Tomorrow I may head back to Sydney to see my cousin Sara in Manly as I don't think I'm up for the mountain biking I came here for.
