Yesterday I did the death road ride just outside La Paz from 4700m downhill to 1300m on the worldīs most dangerous road. My group was 2 aussie couples that had met before and a german and swiss couple that had met before and the Aussie Gus. We biked 64km in total and the road was about 30 degrees I think and it made you go pretty fast. Iīm amazed I stayed on although my legs were so tired from forcing my weight onto the pedals to hang on for so long and my arms killed from all the vibrations. We saw a couple of vehicle wreakages and quite a few crosses on the road but I didnīt feel in any danger until we had to get the minubus back up the road.

Our driver was about 80 and most people over 40 need glasses to drive but he didnīt have any and spent most of the time chatting to his collaues. As the road is so dangerous they drive on the UK side which is the mountain side but our diver insisted on overtaking trucks so were drove really close to the edge which was a bit worrying! Got a nice T shirt to say Iīd ridden the death road and a cd with some videos and pics so iīve put a few on here.

Off to catch my tiny plane to Rurrenabaque to see some monkeys....
