Haven't had phone service or internet in the longest time! I'll fill you in!

24th: we checked out vore buffalo jump, where native Americans trapped buffalo in the spring and slaughtered them. It was formed like the mAmmoth site, a cave of limestone collapses and creates a usable sinkhole.
Then we checked out bears lodge, or devils tower. We had to do a gps activity and we wandered around for a while. We drove back to rapid city and we panned for gold! It was awesome! A private club allowed us to go out and check out the resources. One of our teachers, chris even found a decent flake!
We ate at Mongolian BBQ, did some food shopping and then drove back to the badlands, due to popular demand. We were supposed to stay in hidden valley again, but decided against it. We got there around midnight and we slept outside under the stars around the spectacular badlands. The next morning we got up and explored more of the badlands for about an hour and then got into the car to drive. We drove all day and met Clyde bellecourt after dinner somewhere in Minnesota. There they are preparing for a sundance. He showed us all of the teepees, and described the ceremony. We slept at a nearby campground.

More later, plus photos.

Just don't start making versions of Bears Lodge out of Mashed Potatoes or with dirt in the kitchen. Then we will have been transported back to a close encounter.
