Tuesday 11th September, 2007
What makes Samos our favourite Islands:

1)       the beautiful lush green hills, fields and trees
Samos is by far the greenest islands we have been to. And its not just green its different shades, silver green from the olive trees, dark (racing green) from the fruit trees (figs, limes, lemons etc) it's the pale green if the bamboo, it's the green green grass .
2)       it's the green and blue of the stunning beaches
3)       it's the fresh fruit growing everywhere (that I pick) the grapes, limes, pomegranates, peaches, fresh figs
4)      It's the riot of colours that the houses are painted, red, orange, blue, green, pink, torquise, yellow (we are not speaking about pastel colours we are talking bright vivid colours (as well as the pastels))

For those of you who are into outdoors activity we would strongly suggest Samos. This is an island of hiking, biking (lots of bicyclists), swimming, wind surfing and plenty of walking.

The country side is just stunning, in fact it seemed that we were somewhere like Canada, parts of USA or even parts of New Zealand or Australia as it is just so 'un Greece like', in the sense that no where is anywhere like any other island we have been to in Greece.

Since we arrived here (07th September) - on the wrong ferry (one day early) we have done all the exploring of the island and today we will be going to the ferry ticket place to get a ferry ticket to our next island (we don't know which one it will be yet.

Happy Birthday
Want to be the first to wish you a Happy Birthday for the 14th on whatever Greek island you are staying on - what a very memorable birthday this will be :-)

Have a wonderful time .... my advice is don't drink the retsina but the ouzo is OK ( in reasonable quantities ) and eat as many of the olives as you want!

Life is good! Enjoy!
Love and hugs
