We decided to slow down today (after a hectic weekend at Disney, Lantau and Ocean Park). We took the ferry north across the bay from Hong Kong to Kowloon to check out the sights and sounds.

We started with a walk through the Avenue of the Stars where paw-prints of a host of Asian stars (Oriental equivalent of Hollywood) were set on the pavement and topped off with a life size statue of Bruce Lee.

We moved north along Nathan Road (a prominent shopping and commercial avenue) and hit the Fish Market, Ladies Market and would down to the Jade Market. The last one was pretty neat with a cluster of shops that sold Jade ornaments and other semi-precious stones. Watch your way through these shops. Buy only if you are well versed in identifying real vs fake. Else, admire the trinkets from a distance.

We found the markets relatively expensive. Besides, the articles on display were not extraordinary and did not justify the price. So did not bother bargaining. Just our viewpoint.

We were tired from the long walks and decided to cool heels. So we picked up tickets to an Omnimax movie in the Science Museum. A good movie on twisters in the dust bowl area of the United States.

We spend the rest of the evening in the waterfront area and catch the ferry back to the HK side.
