On the road out of Idaho, and into Oregon this morning. Oregon has been getting prettier by the mile, with yellow & red leaved trees and winding rivers through hilly countryside. We stopped at historic Baker City, which was one of the original towns on the Oregon Trail, dating back to the late 1800's. We crunched on multicoloured leaves down the town's main street, which was very picturesque with it's old brick buildings, and fall decorations everywhere (scarecrows & pumpkins abounded) and stopped at a café for lunch. We had to have a giggle at the Halloween decorated houses (one complete with blow up figures and fake spiderwebs) The American's take their Halloween VERY seriously, though these are the first houses we've seen decorated. We are seeing a lot more cattle in Oregon, and strangely, a few llamas!
We decided to drive straight through to Kent, Washington today, a massive 619 miles (1000km!!!). We want to get to Fred's Auntie Sue's house by Sunday evening, as she is having a Thanksgiving dinner (evidently Canadian's celebrate Thanksgiving in October). We finally made it to the KOA in Kent at about 8pm.
