Left campground and got on the road about 8.30am. Took some back roads out of Pennsylvania - a couple were a bit hairy with the 5th wheel on the back, but a lovely drive through the Allegheny National forest. Stopped at a rest-area just past the Ohio border for lunch, seems to be more trucks on this Interstate, than cars. Into Ohio, we stopped again for an ice-cream sundae in a little town called Winesburg. A really traditional, old general store-type place, with wooden floors and an Amish girl complete with bonnet serving. We saw quite a few Amish people, some girls riding bicycles, and a few horse drawn black buggies going along the road (one with a scrub cutter on the back of it!) We had a beautiful blue-sky day - and temperatures to match (over 32 degrees - compared to 15 degrees in Pennsylvania the day before!) We were planning to stop in a Walmart for the night, but it was still extremely hot when we finished our dinner there at 8pm. With no air-conditioning, we just couldn't handle the smothering heat and ended up ringing up an RV park in the phone book and going there! By the time we finally found the place it was dark (fun driving down a tree-lined, rough road, with no idea where the place was!) but we were just so grateful to be able to plug in and crank the air conditioning up!
