Where I stayed
Went to 'Waffle House' for breakfast this morning, as the hotel didn't have a free breakfast (but for
$44.95 for two interconnecting rooms we didn't complain. Waffle House's breakfasts weren't as bad as I thought they would be, so we filled up and then back on Interstate 20 again
Passed lots of fields of what we thought were cotton growing, and also some massive wind farm/wind generators – sign said it was the 'Wind Energy Capital of the World', it certainly looked like it, we were surrounded by huge wind generators.
Arrived in El Paso, TX after a very, very long drive. Amazing to be able to look to the right of the car and see the bright lights and neon of the U.S.A and then to look out to the left and to see the sparse sprinkling of streetlights on the Mexico side. Staying at a Mariott Hotel which is evidently only 10 days old! The room we are staying in is lovely and the kids enjoyed a dip in the inside pool (although they said it wasn't particularly warm!).
