Alan's blog: Thursday - I think. Up early for breakfast and off on two tours. First a visit in the desert to a series of pre-Incan tombs and mummies from the Nazcan civilization. very interesting but a little unsettling to see them where they were buried 2,000 years ago. the climate is so arid and the tombs are on a higher plateau so they are very well preserved.
From there to the local airport for a flyover of the Nazca lines - immense geometric patterns carved in the rock centuries ago - and only really visible form the air. Makes you wonder how they were able to create them.
That still left us enough time in the afternoon to relax back at the hotel before our overnight trip to Arequipa. Dinner in Nazca at a restaurant with traditional music and dancing. On the bus at 10:30 p.m......

Pisco
Maybe there's a connection between the Pisco and the well preserved mummies :)
