Slept late again today since we had no place to go. The disembarkation talk was at 10 a.m., but it didn't provide much new information.  We will take our own luggage off the ship this time.  We have not had the opportunity to do that on any previous cruise, so we are not putting our luggage outside the stateroom door tomorrow night on the last night.  We will be among the first people to get off the ship in Hamburg since we are doing the "self assist" program of luggage handling.  I hope our rental car will be ready early so we can get to Luebeck earlier than planned.  It’s a small hotel there, and the reception for check in is only open from 3:00 – 6:30 p.m.   Luebeck is about an hour’s drive away from Hamburg, so we have enough time if we don’t get lost more than once or twice.  We have a GPS system in the rental car, but I haven’t learned the German for left turn, right turn, slight left, slight right, or any other things the system will tell us to do.  The ship is now scheduled to dock in Hamburg about 11:00 a.m.  Originally, it was scheduled to get there about 1 p.m.  I asked for the rental car at 3 p.m. thinking that we would need that much time to get off the ship and get a cab to Avis.  I will be happy to have extra time to get the car and find our way to Luebeck.

We had lunch at the pizzeria for the first time today.  It was okay, but the pizza had a too soft crust.  Not like what I remember having in Rome or Florence.  This is an Italian ship, so I expected a bit better.  The dining room includes a pasta course on every lunch and dinner menu.  We have tried them a couple of times.  It just makes for a lot of food to have pasta and all the rest.

Philip and I each had spa appointments this afternoon—massage and reflexology for him and body scrub for me.  I left there feeling all soft and a bit too moist.  My skin likes all the moisture in the air and the body scrub.  We have left the desert southwest far behind.  The humidity right now is 92% and the temperature is 62 degrees.  That is warmer than any day so far.  We will go to the Farewell Spectacular show in a little while.   Tomorrow is our last full day on the ship, but many of the passengers are disembarking tomorrow in Amsterdam.  We have until Friday on the ship and will disembark in Hamburg as most of the passengers do.

Dinner was the grand finale one for the cruise since some people leave the ship tomorrow.  We had the traditional parade of Assistant Waiters carrying the flaming Baked Alaskas high above their heads as they circled the darkened dining room.  It's kitschy but still fun.  The music of choice is Volare, with guests and everyone swinging their napkins in the air in time to the music and some singing along.
