In the morning we explored the inner ancient road and rode up the mountain. We started hiking up the main trail until we noticed a lot of weed wacking up in the taro fields so we decided to head back. We passed some ancient stone sac red temples. That was very cool.

This afternoon while Jim worked on the computer I rode the motorcycle over to Kathy and Dave's house. Jim was soaking in the lagoon and Kathy was working out while I came knocking on the door. Kathy was happy to see me and we spent a few hours sitting on the lanai talking. Dave finally came in from the water and soon Kathy and I waddled around in it. Dave soon joined us and there we were, sitting in aqua colored lagoon. They had removed some coral and had created a little pool for themselves. Once in a while a baby triggerfish would swim by. There was also a small sand crab that was very territorial and would pinch me once in a while as if saying 'get off my hole'. He was a nasty little bugger.

Kathy had told me there was a special Cook Island dance event that was being presented tonight at the Staircase Bar and Grill. A special guest choreographer was in town who choreographed Pacific Island dances. So we planned to go out and watch it.

We all went for dinner at the Whatever! bar and then walked over to the Staircase. It was crowded. I guess it was a big deal for this little island. We were joined by Annie and her husband Dave and their daughter Ali. The dances were more of a modern interpreted style of the Cook Island dance. It was full of energy and the dancers where very good. The male dancers were also wonderful and very masculine and strong. I could hardly stay in my seat!

It was a wonderful night.
