We drove from Adelaide to Sydney in a rental car over a week.
We stopped over in the Grampians National Park, about halfway between Adelaide and Melbourne.
The area is beautiful, although it was very badly damaged in the forest fires in January. There hasn't been a drop of rain there since the fires, but the regrowth was really interesting to look at. They have a big dam, from which water is let out to maintain the waterfall at McKenzie falls. (got to maintain the picture perfect shot for the tourists!)
We saw a huge eagle up close, loads of kookaburras, and the kangaroos were hopping all around our cabin.
