Today we went for a 'little walk' around San Francisco.  I know what Jason means when we go for a little stroll now so I definately put on joggers and not thongs today.  I really wanted to see the Sea Lions which I have heard about which are on Pier 39 on Fisherman's Wharf.  So this was our mission for today.

Either I am getting more fit or my feet are learning to deal with it but we must have a walked at least kilometres all up today.  Who knows.. stuff is in miles and my brain hurts.  I am still trying to deal with Fahrenheit, all I know is when it is cold, it's cold.  California weather so far is perfect tho.

We got down to Pier 39 which was pretty awesome place to see.  Even tho it is a touristy area there isn't too much souvernor bullshit pushed in your face.  We found the Sea Lions which were amazing! It was even better then seeing the squirrel :)  There would have been at least 100 of these lazy fatty boombas just laying on the floating wharf bits in the ocean.  Apparently they come in this area to rest as it is shettled from the bay and sharks, but close enough to go out and get fish, etc.  Apparently the males are up to 400kg! That is  hugggge.  They were  all laying on each other and barking and swimming and was fun to watch.

Next we decided to keep walking along the waterfront of Fisherman's Wharf.  Apparently the thing to do on San Francisco and on Fisherman's Wharf is to eat Clam Chowder and have Sourdough bread.  Even tho this doesn't sound like the most appealing of meals, it looked pretty good so we bough a Sourdough bread bowl with Clam Chowder in it for $6.  Yummmm is all I can say.  Even though there probably wasn't one clam in it was alot tastier then I though it would be and the Sourdough was pretty good too.  We pasted a factory sorta place that made Sourdough in all kinds of shapes.  You can see from my photo that there was a giant crocodile one and there was turtles and all types.  I wanted to eat a turtle :)

We then kept wondering down the area and realising it would take too long to get to the Bridge (another day), we took a detour to head back to the hostel.  I now not what they talk about with San Francisco and there stupid, stupid hills.  Jason was joking with me that at the top of this really steep hill was an icecream place (as I had been complaining I want icecream) and when we got up the top there was :P Cookies and cream icecream for me! Then we made our way back to the hostel to chill out, work and have our free dinner.  All day there has been jets flying around in the sky.  Apparently this is a really big weekend that we fluked and the blue angels are putting on a airshow tomorrow. Sweet! Maybe even some more clam chowder :)
