Today we decided to get out of sleepy Sacramento and off to San Francisco! We thought Greyhound would be the cheapest way to get there (about 3 hours & $18 one way).  So off we went to the Greyhound station after checking out of our hostel mansion.

I am not too sure how many of you heard.. but a few months ago...

"A man aboard a Greyhound bus repeatedly stabbed and then decapitated a fellow passenger, witnesses said Thursday.  Caton said he saw the suspect had the victim on the floor of the bus and "was cutting his head off and pretty much gutting him."

Pretty scary stuff if you ask me.  I thought this happend on public transport but realised it was on a Greyhound bus when we got to the terminal and before boarding all our hand luggage was checked and we were checked over with a metal detector for any guns/knives.  Reality check.. everyone in this world is not sane.

Welcome to the big cities, America.  Driving over the bay bridge to San Francisco we got our first glimpse of the city and the bridge and all the icons.  Looked pretty cool besides all the smog.  First time I have really noticed it.  Doesn't seem any different walking avournd in the city tho.  Once off we went walkies to our hostel and checked in and chilled for the night.  We went for a little walk and our hostel is in a pretty cool location.  We are bascially on the edge of China town and Little Italy and there is some pretty nice looking food places around us.  Besides the fact that the hostel is in the middle of what seems like Sex Alley (sex shops/shows everywhere) it is a pretty funky area.
