I had no intention of visiting Peru's capitol city because I hadn't heard anything really great about the city itself... and I only came down this way because my friends wanted to check it out for a night.

And I am very pleased that I made the detour because Lima is truly a lovely city- no matter what the other travelers have said! :)

There is a large convention going on right now and the heads of states of many countries are here in town right now so security is beefed up to the max- and so perhaps that is why I feel so darn safe! :) Which is very lucky because Lima is notorious for pick pockets and full on muggings... not to worry- the hundreds of military and swat are taking care of all that nonsense. :)
