I made my way to Selcuk which is the town next to Ephesus. I was able to change my flight from Turkish Airways to Pegasus airlines because they had a direct flight instead of having a layover in Istanbul.

The metro is at the airport and cost 4TL which is around $2.50 for an hour on the train. It's so much warmer here I would love to pack my jacket but I have no space in my bag. Temperature went from 2 degrees Fahrenheit to 56 degrees Fahrenheit, I'll take it!

A nice man helped me from the train to my hotel telling me safe and not so safe areas to go to. My hotel room is nice. Simple. Free wifi and breakfast. I booked a tour to Ephesus tomorrow. I was doing the math in my head for admission ticket, transportation, plus wanting to go to another site, it would cost around 80TL. I reserved my tour for 92TL. So now I have someone telling me what the big rocks are.

I went out for dinner to a great restaurant called battalbey which according to the locals is a real Turkish place. Not sure what I got but it was spicy meal, with lemon juice, in a wrap with lettuce. Delicious! Not street food but still really good. :)

Sounds fabulous. I loved that area. You are smart to get a guide. Hope the rest of your trip is great. We are headed to Colombia in two days for three weeks, hopefully to see plenty of birds, animals but no guerrillas! Love, me.
