No Kidding.  NOL is absolutely a city all about the music!  It really is on every corner.  These people are so talented.  There is also a huge arts scene with so many galleries.

The humidity, though hard to get used to can't dampen the buzz that surrounds this place.

I was a bit worse for wear Saturday morning (!) but decided to take a slow walk around to acclimatise and also see of the heat can sweat the alcohol out of me!

Came across a wedding party making their way down the street behind a traditional NOL Jazz band.  All the guests had colourful umbrellas and dancing, it was amazing!

I had my first Gumbo today.  It was delicious!  Accompanied by warm crusty bread and an ice cold root beer, i quickly started to feel better.

For the evening I met up with some guys I met on the train.  Even though I was given the suggestion to go to Frenchman St for authentic NOL, they wanted to go to the notorious Bourbon Street.

What a mess!

I can see why you'll find no real local their.  Imagine Magaluf, a dodgy Saturday night in a local market town and the west end all rolled into one, along with hen nights, stag do's and basically everyone else incredibly drunk and you get the measure of Bourbon St.  Horrific!  We had a laugh (at people) in a few bars, but believe me, I have no intention in going their on my last night.  It has to be about quality entertainment.

I'm nursing a tender stomach again this morning, so I'm going to get breakfast now.

Bye.
