Where I stayed
River camp site where Bill Gates stayed in 2009
Back across the border from Uganda to Kenya. Easy as, and no need to get a new visa for Kenya. Going to Uganda does not invalidate your Kenyan visa so no more money to pay.
Stopped at Eldoret at about 3 so we could go to the DHL office and send our passports off to the Ethiopian embassy in our respective countries to get a visa to travel there overland. You can get a visa on arrival if you fly to Ethiopia but if you go by land it must be issued in your country of residence. Bit of a pain but there you go. If you want to go overland that is what you must do. I now have 14 days in Kenya without my passport, and hopefully it will be returned with a visa by the time we are set to leave Nairobi.
Stopped the night just outside the town at a river camp site. Quite nice. Bill Gates stayed there in 2009 although I doubt he was tenting it.
Poured from 6 all night. That is the norm at the moment ( rainy season don't forget). But a couple of us didn't mind - smart enough to put our tents under the cooking shelters.
