Hi All. Got into Lima last night. Feeling a little tired and slightly befuddled from the flights as can be imagined. Am staying in a suburb/area called San Miguel. It is a lovely little area, cute little houses, lots of security guards around - with big dogs. Guess that makes me feel safer??
This morning headed to Miraflores, which is the backpackery area. Looked west onto the Pacific Ocean - a first for me!! Then headed into Central Lima, practiced my non-existent Spanish with a couple of taxi drivers, generally wandered around and checked out the place. Definitely need to get some functional Spanish, so am back to the plan of doing lessons - I think Arequipa is the place for me to learn.
Am bailing out of Peru tomorrow to head to Piso. To check out the action towards the south. So, not a great deal to tell in this entry. Just letting all know that I have arrived safely and all is well.
