Got to ski at a world-renowned resort!! Whistler is actually rated as the best ski resort in the world, just about...certainly in North America. It's a MASSIVE place, especially that Whistler and Blackcomb mountains just combined to be one ski area with a 'peak-to-peak' gondola. Plus, Olympians skied here, in the rain, just about a year ago. We, on the other hand, were getting about 12-16" of snow in three days, through the Christmas vacation.

The mountain was packed and visibility was very low, so it was a rough day. Not to mention I'm out of shape and couldn't hang. Oh well, we got to get on our skis / board and shake some of the off-season rust. It was, on the plus side, about 30 degrees F, some of the warmest skiing that we'll do until May in Alaska! (Yes, Doug wants to go skiing for his birthday at Alyeska...and it WILL be possible. Incredible.)

We had planned to spend a couple days, but with the mountain being so busy (and half of the mountain closed down due to high winds), we decided to get on the road to Alaska a day sooner. As it turns out, it was a very good choice...
