So here we are in Brisbane, we arrived here after leaving at the crack of dawn this morning, considering what we have been used to, Brisbane is one huge city!! We had a nice short drive here this morning (3 or 4 hours or so) and found a campsite on the southern side of town. We had some lunch and then headed to Daisy Hill, this is a forest area on the outskirts of the city, being home to lots of Gum/Eucalyptus Trees there are many Koalas here and this is the first place in Australia to start a conservation project.
We went inside the centre and learnt loads about the Koalas....some interesting stuff actually - like they sleep for 20 hours a day (bit like us I suppose!), and they sleep so much because of their diet....they dont have any energey.

We saw two Koalas sleeping, these two are being rehabilitated back into the wild, this place is nothing like a zoo, you cant cuddle or anything like that - its good, its all about the animals.
We walked through the forest and unfortunatley diddnt spot any Koalas up in the trees but we did see lots and I mean lots of Wallabies hopping around! They were fantastic....

From Daisy Hill we made our way to the air conditioned comfort of Garden City shopping centre (its much hotter here in Brisbane?!) and hung out there for a while before coming back to the camp to do these travel pods! We will be in Brisbane/Gold Coast areas for a couple of days before heading south to Sydney.

Hugs
