Our few days in Singapore were pure bliss! As we are going back later on this year on our way into Indonesia and Australia we decided that this trip we would just chill out, and when we return we will go and see the attractions.
Our hostel was located on the edge of Little India, it was sooooo nice to be somewhere that feels so safe and is so clean!! We made the most of western food after 2 months of rice and curry, and enjoyed the rain that lashed out of the skies in the afternoons, it was still really hot and being so close to the equator Singapore is always humid, one of the main things I remembered from my first visit here, its humidity like you have never felt before!!!

We had a great time, did some shopping in Sim Lim Square, sent things home with no problems at the Rocher Centre, visited the huge air con shopping centres on Orchard Road, and generally strolled around. On our last night we met with my friend Kenny, who was on business in Singapore at the time, and his sister Rina who lives there, and a few others - we had a great night at a really nice cafe/bar off of the bustling Sultan Mohammed road, near UE Square.

Yesterday afternoon we flew 4 hours up here to Hong Kong, it seems very different from Singapore, not so strict, busier, and much more congested. Hong Kong is our gateway to China, later today we are off to the train station where we shall try and purchase some train tickets for the long 24 hour journey north to Beijing.

Hong Kong, is exactly how we imagines it, from the airport it was mountainous and green, with huge expressways like our motorways at home, then you come into Kowloon, which is the area we are staying in, its still Hong Kong the country, but not Hong Kong Island, Tsim Sha Tsui is the area proper, and the region is Kowloon. Its a bustling area, with a huge long throughfare that leads right down to the waterfront and looks over at Hong Kong Island, there are shops, eateries, neon lights everywhere, and loads of cafes and restaurants - we cant wait to try the local Dim Sum that Hong Kong is reknowned for.
Theres loads to do here in Hong Kong, so we arent sure how long we shall stay, maybe just a few days as then press on into China, but we shall see.

Hugs

Ali and Matt
