Well, once again our time home has flown by! I cant believe that its once again time to leave!

We had a good time in the US and Canada, we really did, but it was so very expensive, it was freezing cold, and we felt that we diddnt have a challenge there...it was all so easy, we could jump on any bus, understand everyone, buy anything we needed or wanted! It wasnt our idea of travelling...and after a while, we just thought....welll...we may as well be at home...saving money!

We were in New York for almost a week, we had seen Times Square so many times, been to Liberty and Ellis Islands, shopped, managed to get discount tickets for Mama Mia on Broadway which was ABSOLUTLY BRILLIANT! We went up the Empire State Building and gazed in awe of the city from such a height, we saw the Rockefeller Center and the architecturally stunning Saint Patricks Cathedral...we did what we went there for....and both LOVED it.
I went onto the internet and checked my email and at the same time checking how much a flight home would cost, along with tons of other options that we had rolling around in our heads! All of a sudden I notice an email from the New Zealand Immigration..I couldnt believe my eyes when I checked and saw that our Working visas had at last been approved!

I told Matt and we were both SO excited...it was then we had to put things into perspective...and decided to get on the next flight to London and outta there...we left the very next evening from Newark airport.

So, since we have been home we have been so so busy, weve had loads to sort out, we have had 2 trips to London, and queued at embassies to get visas, we have booked our flights and sorted our rough itineraries and dates and all that kind of stuff...we have made time to see friends and family and have had a nice time back home.
Its hard to think that when we leave the UK on Thursday for India..we are leaving on a one way ticket...and we have no idea when we shall be returning...in a way...its more daunting than Africa....

But we are both SO excited...we are going to see some of the most amazing sights, at the moment our plans are really fluid and as always subject to change, but here is an idea of what 2006 has in store for us ---

We have 2 months in India with maye a side trip to Sri Lanka, then we fly to China for a month, then we are overlanding independantly....(so no tours for us...at all...!) through Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia...all the way to Bali...from Bali we are booked on a flight to Australia at the end of October...there for 3 months then onto New Zealand...our home for up to 12months at the start of 2007.

Thats all for now folks....

Ali and Matt
