So, here we are in Jinja, our final destination in Uganda, tommorow we cross the border and take in 3 different towns in Kenya...Eldoret, Lake Naivasha and Nairobi.

Since we left the Gorillas in the Congo and travelled back to the town of Kisoro for the night, we have covered miles travelling to the opposite side of Uganda as we approach Kenya.
We stopped in Lake Bunyoni and stayed there for 2 days, it was really relaxing, chilling out around the lake, it was so scenic, green terraces of farmland all the way up the hills, and the sun and the moon lit up the lake day and night. We pitched our tent just along the side of the lake and in the mornings when we opened the zip of the tent immediatly we were spoilt with the amazing view!

Upon leaving Lake Bunyoni we had a 12 hour truck drive all the way across to Kampala where we stopped for some shopping and then across to Jinja.
We left at 6am that day! Which as we have so much ground to cover is actually a common occurence!

We have been here in Jinja for 4 days now, its a really beautiful town, located at the source of the River Nile near Lake Victoria, its a real adrenaline place, people seem to come to Jinja to do some mad things, they have Bungy and everything here (not doing that here mums and dads dont worry!), yesterday Matt went White water rafting on the Nile, they covered 30kms and some huge grade 5 rapids, there was so much white water it was unreal, the dvd is fantastic....and of course...Matts in the highlights as well as being seen thrown by the huge waters off of the raft with everyone else!

It took the whole day to cover that distance downstream, there was about 20 0f them who went off on 5 different rafts...Matt chose to go on the Hardcore raft and at every rapid they shot straight down the middle! At the very last rapid, I was waiting for him with the bar b q and beer!
Imagine, a huuuuuuuuugeeee grin on his face, pink helmet covering his blond curly locks, an oar in his hand and a lifejacket...sun burnt a bit, sooo happy and so full of energy... he came off of the raft with the others and walked around the grade 6 rapid that was far too dangerous for them to try, jumped back on the raft and back into the white water to take on the almighty rapid...known locally as the bad place! The raft started to get closer to the fall, the water was frothy and rushing, the raft just rode the rapids in the middle of the fall for what seemed like an age...before all of a sudden it flipped up and they all shot in different directions across the river...one by one you could spot their helmets out of the water and then they dragged themselves up onto the riverbank and ate some delicious food and drank loads of beer......

Yes....Ugandas been great.....Bring on Kenya....!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love Hugs and Kisses
Miss you all tons

Ali and Matt
