Cette route ou plutôt cette piste, a été faite pour traverser le Pantanal du nord au sud, du Mato Grosso au Mato Grosso do Sul. Le problème est quelle Pantanal est inondée environ 4 mois par an. L'Etat a donc décidé d'arrêter la piste au bout de 145 km.
La piste sert donc maintenant aux touristes à visiter le Pantanal et aux locaux qui vivent le long de la piste.
Nous avons donc pris la voiture pour aller jusqu'au bout et passer la nuit dans une posada.
En route, on a pu voir pas mal d'animaux bien que ça ne soit pas la meilleure saison apparemment. Mais surtout on a pu voir la qualité défectueuse de la piste. Il y a des trous partout et la Volkswagen Gol n'est pas faite pour faire du 4x4. Peu importe!!!!!
La nuit commençant à tomber et les moustiques sont d'attaque par million, on a donc cherché une posada mais malheureusement elles était toutes fermées car c'est la saison basse et apparemment aucun touriste ne vient jusqu'au bout de la piste, sauf nous.
On a eu la chance d'être accueilli dans un village de pêcheur tout au bout des 145 km de pistes après 6 heures de route et pour dormir avec une grosse tarentule au pied de mon lit.
We had to go to Cuiaba to pick up our car that we are going to use for the next 3 weeks. And because Julien will arrive in 2 days and because we didn't go to visit the Chaco, we are going to do the Transpantaneira in the Pantanal.
This road is 145 km long and it is actually a racetrack. It was made to join the Pantanal from the North to the South, from Mato Grosso to Mato grosso do Sul. But after 145km the government decided to stop the road as the area is flooded 4 months per year.
The road is used now for tourism and for people who lives in this area.
We took the car to spend one night there and see some animals. After few hours driving we saw few animals but not as much that we expected because it is the rainy season and animals are further to hide.
The night started and a storm as well and mosquitoes attack. We had to find a posada to sleep but all of them were closed as the tourist season start in March and no tourist except us come to the end of the road.
We were lucky to be welcome in a fisher village were we stay for the night and where I could sleep with a huge tarantula next to my bed.

Le Pantanal, on m'otera pas de l'idée que c'est un nom bizarre quand même....
c'est une épreuve olympique originale ou une partie du corps annonciatrice d'un orifice plutôt sombre??
