Hello.  So I'm thinking this will probably end up being the last entry that I write from Russia.  I fly out early Wednesday morning on a 6am flight, back to Philadelphia through Frankfurt.  But the traveling won't come to a complete halt right away -- the day after I get back I'm taking another flight, as groomsman duties call for a wedding on Saturday.

Yesterday was the Rolling Stones concert in Palace Square -- it was great.  I heard on TV that 50,000 tickets were sold, but there were more people too who didn't buy tickets but sat nearby Palace Square and could hear the concert as well.  It actually started to rain right before the concert, but luckily stopped well before the concert started.  I met a Russian friend of mine, Veronika, around 6pm at the nearest metro and went from there to Palace Square.  We actually were fairly close to the front and center of the standing room section (where the majority of ticket-holders were), probably about 40 feet diagonally from the Alexander Column in the middle of the square.  The concert was supposed to start at 7:30, but started a bit late and then there was a fairly long gap between the opening band (Steve Harley didn't get too much of a reaction from the crowd) and the Stones -- but it was worth it, a really fun concert and just amazing to watch it in the middle of Palace Square.  It was past 11 by the time the concert ended.

Oh, another notable event of the past few days is that the ceiling in my apartment started leaking water a couple of days ago.  Some of you remember my story from 3 years ago about the apartment below me that got flooded and the crazy old lady who tried to blame it on me.  I seem to have bad luck with apartments flooding in Russia just before I leave them.  Here, unfortunately, it was my apartment (not my room, just the hallway/kitchen/bathroom area) that got affected.  Seems that a pipe burst somewhere in the attic area (I'm on the top floor of apartments) and it caused water to leak through the ceilings of my apartment and of the neighbors'.  Anyway, won't get into too many details here, but I was the only one home in my apartment and had to deal with it, but it seems to be OK now.

OK, that's it for now.
