We were so excited to have finally arrived in LA, we jumped straight in a taxi and headed for our home for the couple of nights. We booked our stay on Air B&B and ended up in a great location, at the top of our road was sunset boulevard and at the bottom was Hollywood boulevard! Dante, the owner of this apartment was a really great host, we had everything we needed and couldn't fault this place at all.

It was beautiful weather as we headed down to Hollywood boulevard, when we got to the main strip we were both shocked at just how crazy it is. People dressed up everywhere trying to get you to have a photo with them so that they can charge you for it after, dancers, singers you name it!

We decided that we should do a few of the real touristy things whilst we were there so we went into the Madame Tussauds, did a tour of the Hollywood homes, Runyon Canyon and the Hollywood sign of course

On the second day we headed to Rodeo Drive, what a place.... I could have people watched all day! After wandering around and looking at all the stuff we couldn't afford we decided to get some lunch, we looked at the menu at a place on the strip and were sure that we wouldn't be able to find it. It was so cheap! (Everything seemed so cheap compared to the prices in Australia and New Zealand) We had a few glasses of wine and loads of small plates, it was such a lovely day!

The following morning we went to the airport to collect our Mustang and when we got there the lady pointed us in the direction of a selection of convertibles and said "just choose one, and then give me a shout"... Sam was like a kid in the sweet shop and he was quick to spot the Chevy Camaro (like the car from transformers) we go the keys and were on our way both excited and nervous about driving/being in a car like that. It was the first time that Sam had ever driven in America, with the steering wheel on the left and driving on the other side of the road he soon got used to it and we were then on our way to San Francisco!

lots of love
alex and Sam xx
