Dean: From Ushuaia you have one of two options, a) head back up north, or b) jump on a ship to Antarctica. As appealing as visiting Antarctica is to us (we talked about it when we first planned out our route) we opted for our Galapagos trip over the Antarctic trip (both are stupidly expensive), and so Antarctica will have to wait for another time...
From Ushuaia we caught a bus up to Punta Arenas in Chile (our last country in South America!) but on hindsight we should have gone straight up to Puerto Natales, as there was not much for us to do in Punta Arenas. It's a nice enough place but we didn't really have
any need to stop there - we stayed one night and then carried on up to Puerto Natales.
We still have six weeks left in South America, before we jump over to New Zealand, and for the next couple of these we will be jumping back and forth between Argentina and Chile as we make our way up to Santiago.
