Dean: Thursday - We got a minibus up to Fairbanks today. It was an ok trip up - the views were good but the driver was a bit erratic! We finally got to see a moose close up - it ran out in front of the bus and crossed the road in front of us! They are really big animals. We also saw the aftermath of an Alakan forest fire - apparently the biggest fire they have had for years. Went out for a few drinks in Fairbanks at a local bar which was doing pints of mystery beer for a dollar! When in Rome...
... got back to the hostel at 1:30 in the morning, still in bright daylight - really weird, but it is the longest day of the year today.
We are the most north that we will be going on this trip, just 100 miles short of the Artic circle. It would be good to go up there but we will just have to wait until we go to Iceland next year (I want to see the Northen Lights and Iceland is on my list of places we must get to!!!).

Dean: Friday - spent the day in Fairbanks. went to the museum on the university campus. It's really good, we recommend it if you ever get up here. Food at a Thai restaurant - very nice and then back to the hostel to upload all of our pictures!

Hi Both,
It's great learing about all the places you are visiting. I almost feel I am there with you. :-D
The photos are great too. I love the bear ones, and the different waters meeting. Exciting.
Now- if you want to see the Northern Lights, you could take Amber to Lapland one December !!!!!
I can recomend it!.
