We decided to visit the penguins at Betty's Bay. I'd felt a bit ripped off at Boulders Beach and after visiting the penguins at Betty's Bay I'm convinced we were.What our guide book describes as a small colony was ten times bigger than Boulders and less than quarter of the price. Rant over.
We spent a very happy hour watching and photographing the penguins (and dassies). It's amazing seeing creatures that are so awkward and ridiculous on land tumble into the sea and look so much more at ease and almost elegant.
After a snack and a nap we took a stroll to explore Gordon's Bay - far quieter than our glimpse yesterday. Not the weather for swimming and sunbathing today. Seems a very sweet place and more like the seaside towns we're used to - fish and chips abound. So we made the most of it (calamari and chips again) washed down with a few beers and celebrated the end of a wonderful trip.
